This portable guitar amplifier is made from recycled Oregon pine floorboards that were originally salvaged from an industrial building in Footscray, Victoria. The marks, indents and texture of the wood give the tiger print look.

The heart of this amplifier is a solid-state 18W amplifier with Treble, Bass and Volume controls. The simple selection of these controls enable the blending of the treble and bass to produce a sound that is warm, bright and full of clarity.

‘Easy tiger’ is powered by an in-built re-chargeable battery that gives a playing time of approximately 4-6 hours.

The tiger print effect on the wood combined with the simple control of tone, lead to the name ‘Easy Tiger’

Like all Boomer amps, this amplifier has been protected using a natural wood oil sealer to protect it from stage to stage, for years to come.

This portable bass amplifier was custom designed and made for Tom who was looking for an amplifier that he could hit the streets with.

To fit the brief, the amplifier had to be portable but yet without compromising on a speaker that would be big enough to be powerful without loose clarity. As this amplifier was for a Bass guitar i would need more power than a guitar amplifier to power the lower range. To allow for this and to achieve maximum playing time, the amplifier would be powered by a rechargeable battery pack. The combination of the battery pack and wiring specification would give Tom approximately 20 hours of playing time per charge. Perfect for busking!

Also the amplifier would need to have two inputs, one for the Bass guitar and a 1/8 inch aux input. This would allow Tom to be able to plug in his portable music device to either play along with on his Bass or just play music on its own.

To build the amplifier I used recycled Mountain ash wood that is native to the Victorian Highlands. This wood would suit the project perfectly, both in look, durability and sound.

Like all Boomer amps, this amplifier has been protected using a natural wood oil sealer to protect it from stage to stage, for years to come.
